Horizontal reactions

2 Placement of compounds

All compounds are numbered c⟨n⟩ (where ⟨n⟩ is an integer) and are placed in boxes. The centers of all boxes are placed on the same horizontal line, which is drawn in red dots when the hreac debug option is enabled:

\endhreac

When \>{⟨dimension⟩} is encountered at the beginning of ⟨compound⟩, the latter is moved horizontally by {⟨dimension⟩}.

Compiled output

\endhreac

When \^{⟨dimension⟩} is encountered at the beginning of ⟨compound⟩, the latter (and only the latter) is moved vertically by {⟨dimension⟩}. In the starred version \^*{⟨dimension⟩}, the compound and all subsequent ones are affected.
